Getting an Accurate Quote for Delivery Services

Delivery costs can vary depending on a variety of factors, including package size, location, and the type of service you need. At Express Courier we steer clear of complicated pricing schemes, providing you instead with understandable, up-front rates. Whether you’re looking for scheduled, routed, or on-demand deliveries, there are four key pieces of information we’ll need to provide an accurate quote.

Package Dimensions
We’ll need at least an estimation of the size and weight of each package. If you need us to deliver multiple packages just calculate the average package dimensions. Our pricing is partially determined by the type of vehicle that will be needed to make your deliveries. For example, if you have smaller parcels that can fit in a car, the rate should be less than if we need to use a cargo van or box truck. Keep in mind that smaller packages (about the size of a shoebox) is our sweet spot.

Our per-package rates are also based on how many deliveries we’re making. So you’ll benefit from discounts if we’re making deliveries more than three times a week, especially if they are in the same geographic area or a route. (Doesn’t this sentence need to be bumped up to join the paragraph?) E-commerce companies should provide us with an estimation of daily deliveries, where businesses requiring courier services can let us know how many stops we’d be making each day.

How far we need to go to deliver for you is a major factor in our pricing. We charge by the mile for on-demand deliveries and offer per-package rates for last-mile delivery based on the radius around our distribution hubs. When it comes to daily courier service, we need to consider the time it will take between stops, to see how many drivers would be required.

Delivery Time
Lastly, rates will change based on how soon you need a delivery made. If you need us to make an on-demand delivery in under two hours, you’ll be charged our “express rate.” If you can give us four to six hours the rate will be lower. For last-mile deliveries, the rate will depend on whether you require parcels to be delivered within 24 hours from the time they reach one of our distribution centers, or if we have two or three days.

We look forward to providing you with an accurate quote as you explore delivery options. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us.
